Thankful...

  • For not just having a job (believe me, it’s nice), but a job where the people are great (Like Cheers, a place where everybody knows your name), and one where I can actually lay down to sleep knowing I’m helping doctors serve their patients better and making their practices greener (less paper use!)
  • For the people I surround myself with. My Coworkers are friendly people, My Family is actually pretty sane, an awesome set of friends I actually play WoW with, and my inner circle who I can trust deeply. All are groups that allow me to be me.
  • Technology - Thanks to Twitter, Facebook, et al. I’ve been able to expand my contact circle so wide, and remain in touch with people I don’t see often.
  • All the opportunities. Some I’ve taken and paid off, some that didn’t work out or I passed on because in the long run, they didn’t matter as much as they did.
  • Autotune, for being making a word like “Shawtay” and giving it new life :P
  • 2009. I’ve got my own thoughts about how it turned out (and will share in a month), but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
  • Every time I’ve said thanks so far, because I mean it every time.

On Kindness and Expectations

How often do you expect kindness back whenever you help someone out?

Have you ever thought that maybe that was a bad thing? Sure, it’s nice to hold people up to a standard of decency, but what if that kindness comes in a form that we don’t want it in, or if it doesn’t come soon enough, or what if it doesn’t come back at all?

I’m thinking of changing my attitude… Not to expect kindness back, but to know that it’s something that flows continuously through mankind, and to believe that if I ever in need of it, it will be show up at the right time, in the right form, and in the right amount.

Michael Jackson - Billie Jean (Live at Motown 25)

Easily one of the best live performances ever.

To speed your success, twice a day form a clear mental picture for two minutes of the one thing you want; and tell yourself it's already yours. Imagine it is.

I think I might start doing this. So often we lose sight in life and realize we’re wasting time not getting closer to what we want…

“Buddy Holly,” Weezer

WHOA. WHOA. Wait up a minute. I always knew that Rivers Cuomo was a yellow fever creepster, but I didn’t know it showed up in the Blue Album. That song is so catchy though. Ugh.

I will say though, that despite its yellow fever creepster overload, that Pinkerton did get me through high school.

I never thought of it this way…

“ I guess it’s because we all want to believe that what we do is very important.. That people hang onto our every word, that they care what we think… The truth is, you should consider yourself lucky if you even occasionally get to make someone, anyone, feel a little better. After that its all about the people you let in your life…

What do you think?

In life, you either take action, or make excuses.
